Foldable Bicycle
I want to know what are the disadvantages of folding bicycles.?
mtlbiker is the closest of all the answers in my opinion. Although most folders do have problems on long journeys and its mechanisms can be, well, no less than aesthetic models very good light and can only be trusted, are great looking too. Therefore, if you're looking at the Dahon folders or Fuji or commonly available brands then it is almost as good as another and not intended to longer rides. Its utility is primarily intended to fit into tight places and very portable. On the other hand, if you are looking for a folder that can easily be equal to the execution and even the feel of a high quality road bike, then you should look at Torrent, Bike Friday, or a couple of models of Brompton or Montague. A Torrent-model-3CF Liberty even has a carbon fiber frame tube and is like the light, rigid and manageable as any bike, folding or not in your price range … I might be speaking too soon, since I'm not entirely sure the Torrent series is available to the general public yet. Some of these bikes will have a pricetag starting in the neighborhood of $ 600 and carry out more than $ 2000. The good thing is that they are definitely worth it. As for the typically smaller the wheels of a folder, this allows a lower rotational mass allows faster handling and acceleration but also have less inertia which means you can not coast as far.

I have a Montague folding bike, and I use it to commute to work every day. I try to ride the whole way, but if it’s raining or snowing, I can easily fold up my bike and take it on the train or bus. It’s really convenient and easy to use, and it’s a full-size bike when I unfold it so it always gets attention when people see me ride off.
