Good luck! I suppose try your best to test drive one before you buy so that you can get an idea of comfort. Try and get one with a comfy seat and that can be adjusted for your height.

What full suspension folding mountain bikes exist?
Have seen Airnimal, but a bit expensive and am having difficulty locating alternatives!

I don’t think you can find an “inexpensive” folding mountain bike. You are paying for several different technologies that are not cheap. Who would want to ride a “cheap” folding mtn. bike, right? Seems scary.

Dahon folding or mountain?
I am on a budget of about $150. I want a bike for exercising on a paved trail about 4-6 miles that I will ride (hopefully) 3 times a week. I am limited on space and would prefer to have a folding (due to convenience) but could accomodate a regular sized bike. Should I buy a used $140 foldable Dahon or invest that in a mountain (or other) bike?
The Dahon is a great bike and at that price you need to snatch it up before someone else does.
The nice thing about a Dahon is if eventually you want to combine car and bike commuting you could because you can throw it in the trunk and go. Plus, if you ever do a Europe trip then you can easily lug that on all the trains and stuff in the EU.

You should go to the Dahon website, and figure out exactly which model you have. Add more details about which bike it is, the condition of the bike, how many miles are on it, the year it was made, and the original price of the bike. Then we can give you a reasonable idea about what it is worth.

Would you recommend Folding Bikes?
I’ve heard they are quite slow, sort of heavy despite the aluminum frame, and with bad stability… but some reviews on the contrary say that folding bikes have solved these problems and now offer a competitive option for riding short distances in the city streets… Who’s right?
Like all bikes there are some really good ones and the really terrible. Cheap usually equals terrible.
The better bikes do perform quite well. Probably not quite as quick as a standard road bike, but not a real lot slower. There are quite a few people that have ridden good folders across the country loaded with panniers etc. So not just for around town.
The ones I have had the most contact with and would be happy to own myself are these.

There are other brands that are probably as good but I haven’t had any contact with them so I can’t recommend.

Bike ride witha folding bike?
Hiya, im going to get a folding bike since my old bike got stolen.
in about a month im going to so a bike ride for BHF and because the road was very “bumpy” last time
so i was wondering would a folding bike survive in those up hill down hill condition?

You don’t mention if the reason for the folder is because of the theft or just a personal desire. I would look to a regular bike, and look for a way to properly protect it from theft…. but, that would require a new Yahoo answers question with details of how it was stolen and where you store your bike.
A folder type bike was used in the Tour de France …. did you know that? Greg Lemond rode one in a time trial! He stood up the entire way…. But that was a relatively short ride, and after all it was Greg Lemond. You and I cannot hope to get such performance out of that type of bike.
On a long ride the folder will be measurably slower, rougher riding, and require much more stamina than the full size bike. I might use one as a bike to have on board a boat for weekend jaunts, but it would never be my choice for a primary rider.
So a good folder may survive the ride, but it wood take its toll on both the bike and rider.
