Agree with Bob. Dahon is a very good make. Available from pretty much every bike store nationwide and worldwide. The prices vary, and some dealers do special deals to get you to buy them. They are also very stylish, but also being lightweight to carry about on the train etc.

The main suffering they suffer is broken or rusted hinges. Be sure to oil them, as they fold alot, and without good hinges, the bike will get ruined. Also, the spokes go through so much pressure, so be sure to check them often to make sure. Apart from that, folding bikes are pretty much suffer free, unless of course you crash, which causes a BIG problem to you and the bike

Are you allowed to have a bike at the United States Air Force Academy?
I am entering this summer and I was wondering if I could have my parents bring my collapsible bike after BCT, also would I have to keep it in my room, or a bike rack or what?
Although you do have very nearly zero rights, you are allowed to have a bike. I know plenty of four-degrees (freshmen) with bikes. A few weeks after BCT ends there is parents week and that might be a good time to bring it. If it is collapsible it depends on what size it gets to whether you could keep it in your room or not. Honestly the best bet would probably be to keep it in the bike racks under the dorms though. You have to register it and lock it up, but then you can keep it there.

Does anyone own a collapsible A-bike? How do you like it?

i wasn’t going to answer this because i don’t own one. i am a slightly avid cyclist and just had to look this up. i’d love to try it…but it looks uncomfortable. the price is cheap…so i wonder if it’s worth it. if i could try it , i might buy it. i really like my mountain bike!

What’s your interpretation?
I was looking at my bicycle already chained up. After i arrived at a party.Then I wondered around looking at people every where. Sat at a picnic table. A guy over at another table threw a woad of paper at me. I caught it, unfold it. It turns out to be a ten dollar bill. Try to fold it in half still lumpy. Unfolding it, there’s another dollar bill. I noticed another guy was watching me closely going the trouble of putting the money into my wallet. I yelled at him to leave. He said some thing. I called him a liar and he getting ready to take it.

I am finding a small folding bike…?
Actually, the kind of bike you’re looking for is just called a folder!
These days there are 2 basic types of folders, commuter and military. Ironically, I would say the military is better for commuting, and the commuter is better for leisure. Both are often more expensive than your average bike because of design. Both would also take up very little room in your car.
The military bike folds out to almost the size of a standard mountain bike, but was designed to be carried by paratroopers so you can imagine how small they fold. Since they’re almost the size of a mountain bike, it’s pretty comfortable and you have room to stretch out your legs and can pick up good speed. Montague is the largest manufacturer of those bikes.
The commuter bikes are much smaller, so they pack even better than the military folders, but their wheels are tiny. They ride more like upright BMXes and are terrible for your knees. They’re great if you’re not tackling more than 2 miles a day on them. Dahon specializes in them, but I’d actually recommend the KHS F20. It’s a really sturdy folder and a lot of the cheaper ones tend to have joints that fail (IE won’t fold in the future).
Dahon also makes hybrid bikes that can fold, but they get pricey.

Good cardio machine that takes little space.?
Here is my problem. I am looking for a cardio machine to help me drop some pounds. I rent a room that has little space. The room I have is on the third floor so I can’t use jump rope. I work two jobs and go to school, so I have little time. I would like something that can fold up and not take up all the space I have in my room. I don’t live in the best neighborhood so running is not a great option. I have looked into ellipticals, exercise bikes, treadmills, and rowing machines. I am a big boy so I need something compact or folds compact, but sturdy enough for me to use and not break it. I have gotten suggestions to do circuit training. I have tried it and it seam s to work. I am looking for something that I can study on. HELP.
If space is an issue I would go with a rowing machine. I used to work at a gym and a personal trainer there told me she lost 10 pounds in 1 month using just that machine every day. It works your whole body and you build strength while getting a cardio workout at the same time. As with any other exercise machine make sure to use proper form to avoid injury. Personally, I prefer the elliptical, but I’ve read many bad reviews on the fold-away kind, saying they break easily. Another machine is a mini exercise bike. You pedal with your feet for a lower body workout or pedal with your hands to work your upper body. The bad thing with that is it will take twice as long to get a full body workout. So, a rowing machine seems to be a good choice as it hopefully won’t break as easily as a compact elliptical and is less time consuming than a mini exercise bike.

Why are people such litterbugs?
Well, I started off the day in good spirits, but now I’m disgusted. I bought a new bike over the weekend & took it out this morning to get some exercise & fresh air. Nice warm spring day. As I was riding, I suddenly became very aware of just how much trash is littered on the sides of the road. Fast food containers, water bottles, soda cans, empty cigarette packs – you name it. I even spied a broken watch & a cracked, kid-sized plastic football helmet. There is garbage everywhere! What is so hard about putting trash in its proper place? Why do people have to litter? I’m very OCD about garbage. If I have an empty gum wrapper, I’ll fold it in my coat pocket & throw it out later when I’m near a trash can. I felt like I was riding my new bike through a landfill.
all fast food places depend on someone else cleaning up after them.
that’s part of the business model — someone else pays for their clean up.
that’s part of the reason food is cheaper there — you pay to clean up.
Q. is it easier to fold up you gum wrapper? Or is it easier to just toss it? Note i’m not including whether you like it or not, just, “Is it easier?”
while it’s dirty where you are, i’m pretty sure there are many places around the world where it’s far worse. and more dangerous / toxic.
mind you, i’m not defending litter.
just pointing out the mindset that allows it.
and the fact that, if we allow business to charge the public to do their clean up, then i guess the public gets what it deserves.

Do you know where I could buy a Fold up Bike?
Im 14 and live in Toronto, Canada. And i wanted to know if you knew of any stores that sold Fold Up Bikes. I mainly like this idea because of storage, and i don’t have a bike.

Tourism in Ladakh India, the Dropped Piece of Heaven!
Ladakh has no match. It has an ideal location that is bounded by two of the world’s mightiest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram. There are so many different stories about the formation of this majestic site the most believed one of these is; formation by the buckling and folding of the earth’s crust as the Indian sub-continent pushed with irresistible force against the immovable mass of Asia. Every summer millions of people visit this site including India flights takers as temperatures rarely exceed about 27 degree Celsius in summer. Ladakh is largest district of India, covering more than half the area of Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh means land of high; it is named so as it has an average elevation of 3,500 m. it has taken the form of a valley covering an area of 97,000 sq km. If you take tickets to India you will discover that it’s an exciting experience to fly over the dramatic regions of the Himalayas.
Ladakh Activities: Ladakh is opened as a tourist’s place just a few years ago, since than every year a large number of foreigners come into this valley.
